I am sure that eMail newsletters are a very important part of your eCommerce sites marketing plan. If not then they should be. eMails to people who have purchased from your site in the past can be very good revenue generators.  When it comes to stats on your email newseltters, you may know how many people receive your newsletter or even how many people open it and click on links. You can see an increase in sales when you send a newsletter but do you really know how much of the revenue is from your email blast? Do you know which sale or promotion you sent recently had the best ROI (Return on Inventment)?

If you answered no to either of these questions, you’re missing out on valueble data.  The BlueHornet eMail Marketing System offers the capability to track ROI (Return on Invenstment) down to the link level in your email campaigns. Not only will you know how many emails were opened and what links were clicked, you’ll know how much money was generated by each link.

On your next campaign you won’t simply have to “try something”. You’ll have solid data that you can use to tailor your campaigns to be more effective and increase ROI.

How does it work?

A script is placed in each of your pages to capture incoming hits from emails. When someone makes a purchase, information about what link they clicked in your email and how much they spent are recorded in BlueHornet.

When a user lands on a page the information is saved for 30 days so even if they don’t purchase immediately the ROI impact will be recorded when they come back.

What eCommerce systems does it work with?

As I am sure you know we are experts in the ShopSite eCommerce system. But if you use a different eCommerce platform it’s no problem! SD360 can set up the tracking in almost any shopping cart. Just let us know what you system you use when you contact us. BlueHornet ROI tracking can working with Presta Shop, Cube Cart, Zen Cart, OS Commerce, and AgoraCart, just to name a few. It even works with PayPal!

Is it worth it?

Of course it is worth it. Unless you like guessing at what works! With Blue Hornet ROI tracking you can stop wondering about results and start tracking progress.

by Brent on February 24, 2009

What is the Forward to a Friend feature in BlueHornet and how to use it.
(%%FORWARDTHIS%%)?

Forward to a Friend (FTF) is a component of your viral marketing strategy. It allows your subscribers to forward messages from your email campaigns. FTF forwards the email message exactly as your subscriber received it allowing an exponential number of people to receive your message.

Place the %%FORWARDTHIS%% tag anywhere in the body of your email. When the message is sent it will be replaced with a FTF link or URL.

How Do My Subscribers Use It?

Subscribers use the feature by following a link, text or image, from your email to the FTF page. It is recommenced that in HTML and AOL messages that you use the %%FORWARDTHIS%% tag to link text or images. Then they fill out names and email addresses of their family and friends. Subscribers have the option to personalize the forwarded message with a note. Depending on how you set up your FTF page subscribers can forward the message to as many as twenty people.

How Do I use it?
